Is Martin Luther King Day Christian?

By Jim Jester

The national holiday honoring the civil rights activist, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (not the name at his birth), is a national disgrace. It is the only holiday that bears the name of a man who had nothing to do with the founding of America. This alone could qualify it as a racist holiday. Most Americans will respond that we have Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays honored. But the fact is, these names have been dropped from the calendar in lieu of the generic “Presidents Day.” Those not born in America or immigrants coming in could rightly ask, “Which presidents?” Dead presidents, living presidents, presidents of debating societies? To be fair and equal, MLK Day should actually be called Civil Rights Day. Instead, the Negro, Mr. King, is honored simply because of his race, not because of his character. This is hypocritical, because I recall that he spoke about a person being judged by his character, not by the color of his skin. American’s should ask, is this holiday a Christian observance worthy of honor and was Mr. King a Christian?

Scripture Reading: Genesis 10:5

There are several Protestant denominations that state that the King James Version of the Bible is practically infallible with no or hardly any mistakes. They also indicate that this is the only Bible version that should be used.

While we certainly do not oppose the use of the King James Version and believe that it’s an average translation of Scripture, we do not believe that it’s the only inspired version of Scripture. It’s important to note that all English translations have errors and mistakes and eventually have words that became archaic after over 400 years or less of it originally being published.

Music in the Temple

SCRIPTURE READING: Ephesians 5:14-20 RSV

There are many kinds of music in the world, and each kind has its purpose for which it was created: Music for drama in movies, music for dancing and entertainment, music for exercise, music for relaxation, and music for the Temple, or Church. Should the Church use any or all of these styles of music?

The Bible speaks much about music. The word “sing” and “singing” appear in the Bible 148 times. The most used Hebrew word for “song” is shiyrah, found 90 times, and the second most used Hebrew word is shiyr, found 82 times. Music is addressed regularly in the Old and New Testaments: 63 times in the Old and 5 times in the New, the specific direction is given, “Sing to the Lord.”

There is also an interesting omission: Nowhere in the Bible is there a command to sing to the heathen, or to mankind in general. This fact alone ought to set straight those evangelicals who are attempting to “win others to Christ” with their music; many going so far as to use Rock music for their “worship” services. Rather, the only purpose of sacred music in light of Scripture is to direct praise to God.

History of the Lost Sheep

By Pastor Bob Hallstrom

In the beginning Israel’s family was small in size, and since we visualize a tribe as a small group, we would us the English word “tribe.” After it grew in size into a family of some three million people. In our minds, it would be too large to be considered a tribe or family — we would be more inclined to call it a nation. After crossing the Jordan River into the land of Canaan they had geography as well as people and were probably considered a nation of people as well as a race (family) of people having the same heritage, habits, and customs.

R. C. Sproul and John Piper

by Pastor Thomas A. Robb

Here is another gem from the late Dr. R. C. Sproul founder and first president of Reformation Bible College located in Sanford, Fl. Dr. Sproul identifies himself with the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms, the Belgic Confession, and the Heidelberg Catechism. I am sure he was a nice guy. But here is what he said: “I don’t see anything, even in Scripture, that would prohibit interracial marriage.”

Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 17:15

15) “Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger [foreigner] over thee, which is not thy brother.”

The purpose of this sermon is to explore the connection between some of the Caribbean Islands and the history of one of the founding fathers of our nation. There were a whole lot of European nations, France, England, Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands, Knights of Malta of Sicily, Denmark, Spain, and Norway involved in the early settlement of these newly discovered islands. Let’s explore two, St. Croix and Nevis.

Scripture Reading: Rev. 21:2-5 (CNT)

We know what our goal is. We know the 'Mark' set before us.  It is our prayer that this time would come and come quickly.

Philippians 3:14-16;

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded; and if any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

In the meantime we must stay diligent and like minded in our walk with the Father and our brothers.

There is only one place that man is expected to arrive at the End of this age of which we envision.

It is that Divine place where we were supposed to be in the beginning:  Where our Father reigns.

Reformation Day

By Karl Tester

The 31st October each year is well known for Halloween which is a celebration of death, the occult and paganism.

What is not so well known is that the 31st October was once widely remembered as Reformation Day. A day which celebrated the remembrance of the onset of the Protestant Reformation which began when Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses on the Castle Church doors in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517. After almost 1,000 years of gross spiritual darkness and bondage this event triggered a massive and widespread exodus from the Roman Catholic Church to the light of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.

Protestant Churches once delivered talks and sermons at this time to remind the people of the dark past which existed under the iron rule of the Papal Roman Catholic Church and from which they had been delivered.

Scripture Reading from The Apocrypha: 2 Esdras 6:7-9

We are in this world (society), but we are not of this world (Society).

We, the White family of the world, the children of our Father God Yahweh, were not created for this social system, of which we have been unwittingly  seduced into accepting.  This is not our society.  This is not our world.  We do not belong in this existence, which we have blindly and ignorantly come to consider; 'The World', 'This Society', or 'This Social System'.  By the prepositions of 'The', 'This' or any other similar words, we are mentally conditioned to believe we are in this physical position and subject to this current system of social control.  Such are the results of our separation from Yahweh and his divorce of us.  We walked in sinful heathenism from the 8th century B.C. until Christendom completely engulfed our European nations near 1200 AD.  That is when all of Scandinavia finally accepted the Truth and became Christian.  All the White Nations became followers of Christ:  “Christians”
