Pastors and Churches Complicit with Abortion Industry
The Wake-up Herald
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Romans 13:11-14

Pastors and Churches Complicit with the pro-death abortion industry

Complicity n. = Involvement as an accomplice in a questionable act or a crime.
Pro-death = a.k.a. pro-choice adj. = advocating a woman's right to control her own body (especially her right to an induced abortion); abortion advocate, accepting abortion, approving abortion, endorsing abortion, in favor of abortion, pro-abortion, sanctioning abortion, supporting legalized abortion, supportive of abortion.
Industry n. = "diligent activity directed to some purpose," and its descendant, Old French industrie, with the senses "activity," "ability," and "a trade or occupation."
How pastors and churches are complicit in the abortion industry
Silence n. refusal or failure to speak, communicate, etc.; Not voiced or expressed; unspoken. Silence gives consent. Saying nothing or not saying no to something means that you agree.
In a message entitled, The Sin of Silence, delivered September 6, 2000, at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, MO, Dr Lawrence White, senior pastor, Our Savior Lutheran Church Houston, Texas said:
The moral meltdown that has overtaken America has been met with a deafening silence from the pulpits of America, and the people-pleasing preachers who presume to stand in them. This desolation of decency could not have occurred if the pulpits of this land were once again aflame with righteousness. To use Alexis De Toqueville’s famous words, "By our apathy, by our acquiescence, and by our ignorance, the church of Jesus Christ has consigned itself to irrelevance and impotence in the ongoing struggle for the soul of America."
Our political leaders deal in trivialities and superficial nonsense, practicing the feel-good politics of deliberate ambiguity, while the destruction of our families, the perversion of our most basic moral principles, and the murder of innocent, unborn children goes on, and on, and on.
In this great nation, where for twenty-seven [now 40] long years the innocent unborn have been slaughtered, we have grown accustomed to the killing and have gone on with our business, with our lives, and our ministries, while the little ones have perished, every day, 4000 a day. This is what we have come to in America. The Supreme Court of our land sanctions the horror of partial birth abortion, this most barbaric and grotesque killing of a child in the midst of its birth.
And yet even in the face of this abomination, the churches of America, the pastors of America, are silent. Where is the cry of outrage!? Where is the indignation of the people of God? We, too have known the evil from its start. Dumpsters full of ravaged infant bodies stand in mute testimony to our failure and to our guilt.
R. C. Sproul said:
“To be silent is to be complicit … When we are silent, when we treat abortion as a mere social problem, a mere political issue, we expose our complicity. So preach faithfully. Call for repentance from the pulpit God placed under your care. Preach the same good news that He preached, that the captive are to be set free, that those marching toward death are to be rescued. Preach, and take the heat. For Jesus says such will make you blessed. Walk by faith, and preach by faith, in season and out of season.”
God’s Word: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” (Eph 5:11). To ignore them or avoid them is not enough — Reprove them.
Matthew Henry:
There are many ways of abetting; urge and help on, or taking part in the sins of others; by commendation, counsel, consent, or concealment [silence]. And if we share with others in their sins, we must expect to share in their plagues. If we do not reprove the sins of others, we have fellowship with them. A good man will be ashamed to speak of what many wicked men are not ashamed to do. We must have not only a sight and a knowledge that sin is sin, and in some measure shameful, but see it as a breach of God's holy law. After the example of prophets and apostles, we should call on those asleep and dead in sin, to awake and arise, that Christ may give them light.
In the United States, during the latest year for which reliable statistics are available...
- 11,101 lives were lost in gun-related homicides (2011).
- 32,163 lives were lost in all gun-related incidents, including accidents (2011).
- 34,676 lives were lost in motor vehicle accidents (2011).
- 1,212,400 lives were lost in 2011 due to encounters with abortionists' scalpels; 60 million+ since January 22, 1973.
