The First Murder
by Walter Giddings
September 27, 2020
Greetings Kindred and Fellow Sheep. We are on a first name basis here. My name is Walter. My job is to lead you to the Real Teacher, The Master, Jesus Christ. Murder is a gruesome topic. Is it the end of the Victim’s biology in “the world that now is”? What is the Victim’s Fate in “the world to come”?
Isaiah 14:20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
Who is this “thou” who has destroyed his land, and slain his people? Why does God through the endtime prophet Isaiah call him an evildoer? If a soldier in war kills an enemy, is he an evildoer? Is he guilty of murder? Peaceniks will answer “yes!”. But they forget this is not about peace; it is war! The law of our Land is clear on this point. Prosecutors may act like persecutors, and refuse to apply this point of law, but this point of law is clear: a man guilty of self defense is not guilty of murder. Ever hear of a novel theory of prosecution? Juries are convicting their neighbors on novel theories of prosecution! Are such jurors public fool graduates, disabled from the capacity to learn? When reminded that a novel theory of prosecution means no man can anticipate what the law requires of him, their faces wear the “stupid sheep” look. Does the application of a novel theory of prosecution render the application of the law on that theory void for vagueness? Novel means new! The accused committed his act prior to the introduction of the novel theory of prosecution. The accused becomes guilty by theory! Constitutions term this “ex post facto,” meaning the act committed is called a crime after the fact! Show me one public fool graduate that has ever heard of the “void for vagueness doctrine”! Does this mean not all killings are murder? (Verse 20). God calls him who destroyed his land and slew his people an “evildoer”. Are Evildoers criminals?
Who is this “thou” in verse 20 that murdered the people under his rule? Are those executed for capital crimes given honorable burials? Who is this “thou” not worthy of an honorable burial? Does verse 17 give us another clue?
Isaiah 14:17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
Who destroyed the cities of the world? Who made the world as a wilderness? The World? Who on earth has ever destroyed the world of cities? Who is this guy? And when did He do this evil deed?
Isaiah 14:13-14
13 For thou hast said in thineheart, I will ascend into heaven. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.
What kind of Power reveals what someone says in their heart? Is Isaiah privy to the reading of this guy’s mind? Is sitting also upon the mount of the congregation
in the sides of the north trespass of the Holy of Holies in the Heaven? In verse 14, is ascending above the heights of the clouds, ascending above the visible heaven? Does this get more supernatural with every verse? (Verses 15-16).
Isaiah 14:15-16
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms.
What husbandman is there that can make the earth to tremble? Who had rulership over kingdoms? Why did he shake them? Who is this guy?
Who is this “thou” who is brought down to Sheol, to the sides of the pit?
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning; how art thou cut down to the groundthat didst weaken the nations.
The “thou” is not only mentioned again in verse 12, he is clearly addressed as Lucifer.
We know who. Currently there are a multitude of countries whose rulers, visible or invisible, are murdering their populations, or murdering their living. Tyrants spread fear, dread, and terror as a means of control. Is there anything new under the sun? Are tyrannies demonic? Should we think it strange the Devil was first?
How many people have we met think the Devil was a ruler who turned rogue, went beast, and murdered the people? For something this Huge, should we receive the testimony of one or two more witnesses to the indictment of Satan for murder? Would Jesus be a credible witness?
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Verse 44 has the Devil convicted of two separate paternity raps. He is the father of children who perform his lusts, and he is the father of The Lie. We lack time to pursue this: previews of coming attractions. “He was a murderer from the beginning ..”
How many people have we led to this verse, asked them to explain it, and they are either angry or speechless? To how many people have we avoided referencing this verse, because we know they have no frame of reference for discussion? We do not expect people who have been stunned, or gone into shock, to participate in fellowship Bible Study!
However, if Jesus says the Devil “was a murderer from the beginning”, is that the same as a Conviction? Is Jesus the very personification of the Truth? Do we have another witness to Satan’s guilt?
Ezekiel 28:15-16
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
In verse 15, was God’s creation of Lucifer good? Was iniquity found in him? Was the Iniquity found in him God’s Will or Lucifer’s Choice? Do angels have choice? Does verse 16, say Satan sinned?
Ezekiel 28:17-18
17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
In verse 17 did the Devil become filled with pride? In verse 18 does Satan sin in commerce?
Ezekiel 28:19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
In verse 19 will the Devil be a terror until sentence is executed upon him? Are tyrants still killing their own country people? Shall we seek one more witness in the newer Scriptures?
1 Timothy 3:5
5 For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
Do the Scriptures give us a firm understanding of our own bankruptcy; we cannot save ourselves? Do we understand carnal nature is predictable?
The 1777 Edition of The New England Primer published when John Hancock was President of the Continental Congress asks a series of questions for children to display their understanding of what they are reading:
Who was the first man? Adam
Who was the first woman? Eve
Who was the first murderer? Cain
Who was the first martyr? Abel
That Primer taught children to read with understanding!
Genesis 4:8-10
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel, thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
Did God expose the murder of Abel, and prevent it from becoming a missing person case?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
What was the motive for Abel’s murder? Why did Cain do it?
1 John 3:11-12
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
Does Murder continue today? Is Cain still killing Abel?
Proverbs 29:27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
Is there another witness to the nature of this Enmity?
Isaiah 26:10 Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.
When did Cain murder Abel? After what event was Cain motivated to talk with Abel? When that did not go well, he slew Abel, “because his own works were evil and his brother’s righteous.”
Genesis 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
Casual students of the Scriptures have little idea how public this embarrassment was to the oldest son of Eve! Is carnal nature predictable? Is the murder of Abel the First Murder in the Bible? Or is Abel’s murder the first murder in Adam?
When did Lucifer make the world as a wilderness, and slay his people? Did Jesus tell us that the devil was a murderer from the beginning? How far back on the beginning should we go?
How many places in the Bible do we find world wide destruction? Where in the Scriptures do we see a picture of the world totally decivilized? In 2 Peter, the one the apostle composed, knowing that soon he would put off his image of the earthy tabernacle, Peter cited the world that perished.
2 Peter 3:5-6
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished.
A number of people have told me, “That’s the flood of Noah.” I get so curious when people say that. I want to know how people come to their convictions. I crave to see the same evidence they have seen. Is this flood in 2 Peter the flood of Noah’s day?
2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
“But the heavens and the earth which are now, by the same word are kept in store.” Are the heavens and the earth which are now the same heavens which were of old? Does verse 5 say that world perished? Did God garnish the heaven with sun, moon, and stars, the fourth day? The fourth day of what? What evidence in Genesis do we have that God intended to destroy the earth?
Genesis 6:13 And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Are we beholding yet? “Behold I will destroy them with the earth.”
Genesis 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and everything that is in the earth shall die.
Are we beholding yet? “I .. bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh.” Do verses 17 and 13 herald an end? End of what? Is it the end of all flesh? Do we see the rainbow in the same heaven that existed before the flood upon Noah’s world? Is it the same earth off which the waters evaporated?
Genesis 8:1-2
1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle, that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged.
2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.
Did the waters asswage from the same earth that was flooded? Was the rain from the same heaven restrained? Was the violence that filled the earth gone? Was the flesh that filled the earth with violence gone? Is the rainbow today seen in the same heaven that existed before the flood destroyed all flesh?
Genesis 9:11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
Did the world of Noah perish? Or did Noah’s family replenish the earth? Did God destroy the evil and save the Good?
Peter writes of a world that now is, and the perishing of a world that then was. Just in case we might lose grasp of time reference, Peter adds this:
2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
If this flood in 2 Peter 3 is not the flood of Noah, then according to Genesis it could not have occurred after the flood of Noah. Were there really two floods? If there were two floods how long ago would that first Flood have been? What is a millenium? Would it be millenia instead of centuries ago?
Psalms 24:1-2
1 The earth is the LORD’S and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
Is this world, as we know it, partially established upon the Flood of Noah’s Day? What is the other flood? When did it occur? Are there more witnesses? Has God ever left himself without witness? Acts 14 says God “left not himself without witness in that He did good.”
Jeremiah 4:25-26
25 I beheld, and lo, there was no Adam, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
26 I beheld, and lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
“The fruitful place was a wilderness.” Does that sound familiar? “All the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger!”
Oops! In verse 26 we have the Great I Am God of the Bible in mighty judgment with fierce anger! Where is Adam?!.
Jeremiah 4:24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
The word “trembled” is translated from ra ash’ (raw-ash’), H7493, its seminal mean ing to undulate, and translated elsewhere as quake or shake. The words “moved lightly” are from the Hebrew sense to vibrate swiftly. Is this the same mass destruction of which Lucifer is accused? When did this mass destruction occur?
Jeremiah 4:23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
Have we seen these words before? Where? Here in verse 23 “without form and void” are the Hebrew poetry: tohu and bohuw! “And the heavens, and they .. no light”! (Jeremiah 4:23). Where does God say, “Let there be light.”?
Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Would God say “Let there be light,” if the heavens had light? Was that darkness evil to Creation?
Genesis 1:4-5
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
The First Day of what? Is this the First Day of Creation? Or is this the First Day of Replenishment? And what is the Evidence for our answers to these questions?
In order for this to be Replenishment, would there have to have been an emptying? How can there be a Re-Filling if there has been no emptying? And what kind of Destruction would it take to accomplish the emptying of the earth of all civilization to make the world a wilderness, and all cities broken down?! Where do we find the First Mention of the Hebrew poetry tohu and bohuw?
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
“The Face,” or Surface, "of The Waters.” In 2 Peter 3, did we see “the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished”?
In a previous lesson, The Beginning, we studied the 1st Verse of The Bible extensively. We discovered the personification of The Beginning, the 1st Mention of Jesus Christ in The Bible. In Genesis 1:1 the Scripture directs our attention to the Heaven and the Earth. In verse 2, to what does the Scripture call us to examine with the mental eye? Is it a picture of the Spirit of God hovering upon the face of the waters? How radical a change is this in our view or outlook from verse 1 to verse 2? How abrupt a switch is this in our point of reference or relative position? Do we go from widescreen Panavision in Verse 1 to Close-Up in Verse 2? Is this the Capital A Author’s Literary Device, severe and startling change in Perspective, to capture our attention to a monumental Event of Mass Destruction?
In Verse 2, look at the Phrase “without form and void”: this is the 1st Mention of the Hebrew poetry tohu and bohuw. (Jeremiah 4:23). Is the language identical in Genesis 1:2 and Jeremiah 4:23? In both addresses is it the earth that is “without form and void”? Why is “without form and void” also here in Jeremiah chapter four? What is the subject matter of chapter four? What is the topic?
Whose Judgment? Upon whom is God’s Judgment prophesied?
Genesis 1:8 For this gird you with sackloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.
Who is us? Look what God through Jeremiah says to Jerusalem:
Genesis 1:18 Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.
What is the history of Israel with her prophets? What is the history of Judah with her prophets? At the least, do they hear the prophets in stubborn unbelief? At the most do they murder the prophets’ living, or the prophets?
Why does God cause Jeremiah to see the perished world, before God placed Adam in The Garden? Is God showing proud and haughty Judah that, when he purposes to bring judgment, nothing natural or supernatural can stop it! Could it be Satan slew the people that he ruled, making a world before Adam a wilderness? What other witnesses do we have to the Floods, or to either one of them.
Here, in this Psalm, the singers sing of Jehovah, the Great I Am God of Heaven and Earth performing these deeds!
Psalms 104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed forever.
“It should not be removed forever.” Is ever the opposite of never? Is it true the foundations of the earth are never removed?
Psalms 119:90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
If the earth abideth ever, and the world that then was perished, are the earth and the world two different entities?
Ecclesiastes 1:4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth forever.
“The earth abideth forever.” Does the Prayer of Moses, the Man of God, confess The Great I Am “formed the earth and the world”?
Psalms 90:1-2
1 LORD, thou hast been our dwell ing place in all generations.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlast ing, thou art God.
Where was Adam? Where were we before we were born? Where was Adam before the from everlasting to everlasting Great I Am God put or placed Adam on the earth?
So many questions! We are almost out of time! In addition to having “laid the foundations of the earth that it should not be removed forever”, what other deeds with the earth did our God perform?
Psalms 104:6-8
6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
8 They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
Who are “they”? Against what did our God rebuke and thunder? Did we read the answer in Verse 6: “the waters”? Did God cover the earth “with the deep as with a garment”? In Genesis 1:2, was darkness “upon the face of the deep”? Did the Spirit of God hover “upon the face of the waters”? Is the Flood that God rebuked in Psalms 104 the same flood in Genesis 1:2? Is the Flood of Psalms 104 the Flood of Genesis 1 when God made the Firmament, (v 6), “to divide the waters from the waters”, and called the firmament Heaven?
Did the waters assuage when “God made a wind to pass over the earth”? Is that God’s Rebuke or God’s Evaporation? Did the waters in Noah flee? Or did God’s Wind evaporate them? (8:13). “The waters were dried up from off the earth.” How can we say the Flood in Psalms 104 is the Flood of Noah?! Is the Flood in Psalms 104 the one in Genesis 1:2 and 2 Peter 3?
Psalms 104:4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire.
In Psalms 104 have we been reading a sequence of events in order? Why mention the making of angels with a Flood? Did God make his angels well before the Flood of Noah’s day? With which Flood then are the angels mentioned?
Do we have 2 Floods, 2 Emptyings, and 2 Replenishments? Where in the Scriptures do we find 2 Replenishments?
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion ...
Who remembers where in the Scriptures we find the second Replenishment?
Genesis 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
Have we found 2 Replenishments of 2 Emptyings from 2 Floods?!
Did Lucifer and the Angels exercise dominion in a World before Adam? Did Lucifer murder the World Before Adam?
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning ...
Did Cain do the lusts of his father? Did Cain, therefore, commit The 1st Murder in Adam?
