Politics, Pastors and Business as Usual Part 11
The Wake-up Herald
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Romans 13:11-14

Politics, Pastors and Business as Usual
Part 11

Politics is a secular function
secular adj. = 1. Worldly rather than spiritual. 2. Not specifically relating to religion or to a religious body: 3. Relating to or advocating secularism. 4. Not bound by monastic restrictions, especially not belonging to a religious order.
secularism n. = A view that religion and religious considerations should be ignored or excluded from social and political matters; the state of being secular.
The U.S. Constitution was intended solely as a secular document until it was amended to include, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof …”
Note: it was ‘religion’, not ‘Christianity’, that is, polytheism—multiple gods and religions— that were attached to the Constitution by the First Amendment only after the Anti-Federalists, who were afraid of a strong centralized government, refused to support the Constitution without the Bill of Rights.
Many believe the Founding Fathers intended the word ‘religion’ to mean ‘Christianity’ exclusively because it was the dominate religion of the time; others insist it was a safe guard to prevent Congress from legislating any religion, including Christianity, as the official State religion. Limited space prohibits even a cursory ‘history lesson’ on the subject here; it can be said, however, that the Founding Fathers did not use the words Christian, God, Jesus Christ, or Bible in the U.S. Constitution.
The U.S. Constitution is a humanly devised, structured, secular document; it is not divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant, or eternal; Only God’s Word—the Bible—has this distinction.
Sadly and tragically government has assumed a self-appointed status of ‘god walking on the face of the earth’. It sanctions with impunity the murder of 60 million+ people via ‘legal’ abortion; sodomy and same-sex marriage because God's Law is rejected.
Law is the will of the sovereign for his subjects. Thus Law represents the word of the God of the society. Now whose Law you have, He is your God. So if Washington makes our laws, Washington is our God. As Christians we cannot believe that. For centuries, God’s law has functioned wherever God’s people have been, whether in Israel or in Christendom. This is a new and modern thing that we turn to the state’s law. One professor of law, the dean of a law school, told me that he found that even into the 1840s, courts in the United States, decided cases out of the Bible — out of God’s Word, out of His Law — because He is God.
Now we do not recognize God as God over the United States. The oath of office for the president of the United States used to be taken on an open Bible on Deuteronomy 28 invoking all the curses of God for disobedience to His law and all the blessings of God for obedience to his law. Now basically you can have two kinds of law: theonomy — God’s law, or autonomy — self-law. That’s what it boils down to and autonomy leads to anarchy, which is what we are getting increasingly. ~R.J. Rushdoony
Biblical Christianity is a sacred function; there is no dichotomy between the sacred and the secular; it is all-inclusive to all of life; “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men”(Col 3:17, 23). “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” (I Cor 10:31).
God’s Word—not politics—is square one, point of beginning to resolve America’s rapid descent into an inevitable demise.
Jesus Christ is LORD! The law of the LORD is perfect! “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us” (Isa 33:22).
Wake-up, Pastors! Wake-up, Christians!
