The Worldwide Flood
A note from Pastor Elmore: The Bible is full of controversies. The flood of Noah is one of them. Was it world-wide or local? We at the Fellowship of God's Covenant People believe it was not world-wide, however it did change the world in that the firmament was broken and the life spans decreased remarkably. But there is one provision that we must require of any discussion of the flood: The seed of the serpent and the other races could not have all died in the flood of Noah. And unfortunately, that is what the majority of Christians believe today. If there were only eight people alive, then how did all the races, including the seed of the serpent, get here? They would all have to come from Noah and there would be no valid argument against interracial marriages. There would be only "one race". Also if there were only eight people in the earth about 4000 years ago, what about the history of the African and Chinese people? Where is the record of their history stopping and then slowing and then starting back up again?
As long as a person allows all the different races (pure and mongrelized) to survive the flood (many put them on the ark), it should not be debated. To believe in a world-wide flood with only eight survivors is heresy and that account would make the Bible a teller of falsehoods. Below is an outline of the Scripture studied. The audio includes Alan's additional comments and also the discussion of the elders after his presentation.

Scripture reading for the day: I Corinthians 1: 10:
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Introduction by Alan: Do you remember what it was like before you came to the knowledge of the truth? Do you think you know everything now? Do you stubbornly cling to what you want to believe, or is your goal to actually follow the truth wherever it leads? Will you cling to something that cannot be sustained by facts? Whatever is not of faith is sin. Faith is not some ether that floats around. Faith is based upon the facts of God’s Word.
Let us go to God’s Word:
- Genesis 1:1-31
- Genesis 6:1-22
- Genesis 7:1-24
- Genesis 8:1-5; 17-21
- Genesis 9:1-19
