The Modern Day Lincoln Cult

by Pastor Charles Jennings

With preceding and ending comments by Pastor Don Elmore

In the modern American Republican/Conservative/Christian mentality, Abraham Lincoln has been elevated to a ‘Christ-like’ status, when in all actuality, Lincoln and his administration opened the floodgates of political tyranny and socialist policies that has morphed themselves into mature Marxism and governmental corruption that we are living with today.

Scripture Reading Matthew 7:22-23

“Beware of false prophets” (Matthew 7:15a) is the warning that Jesus Christ gave to His covenant people. The false prophets are ravening wolves dressed up as sheep.   Jesus tells His people that the false prophets will:

  • Prophesy in the His name,
  • Will cast out demons in His name, and
  • Will do many wonderful works in His name.

Does anyone here know any false prophets?   Does anyone here know of any preacher who casts out demons in the name of Jesus the Christ? My conclusion is that there are significant more false preachers in our land than real preachers!

Matthew 7:28: “And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at His doctrine.”

The Writings of Solomon

Sermon by Jim Jester

January 8, 2023

SCRIPTURE READING: Proverbs 8:10-11

INTRODUCTION

In this sermon we will be covering the writings of Solomon as they have to do with racial intimations. Solomon was known for his wisdom, but it appears he did not always follow his own advice, but rather succumbed to temptation. Perhaps some of his failures led to his great wisdom, while at the same time and in due time, God inspired him in answer to his own prayer.

A bit of historical background:  Solomon’s reign was the “golden age” of Israel. The magnificence and splendor of Solomon's court were unrivaled. He had seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines, an evidence at once of his pride, his wealth, and his sensuality. The maintenance of his household involved immense expenditure.

Solomon's reign was not only a period of great material prosperity, but was equally remarkable for its intellectual activity. He was the leader of his people also in this uprising amongst them of new intellectual life. He spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.

After His Own Heart - Part 2

“The LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart

Scripture Reading: 1 Chronicles 21:17

We confirmed in Part 1 that David was the man after God’s own heart.  We are reviewing the Evidence of the Scriptures to solve a bit of a Mystery.  We are asking what was in David’s heart that caused the God of our Fathers to call David a man “after his own heart”.  We confirmed in Part 1 that Abraham was called the Friend of God because he did not withhold Isaac, his “only begotten son”, from Sacrifice.  We also confirmed that God made Moses his clear choice to lead Israel from Egypt to the Land of Milk and Honey by speaking with him “face to face”.  [Exodus 33:11] and [Deuteronomy 34:10].  Do we know why God called David a man “after his own heart”?  Do we know now what was in David’s heartWe found with David a number of references to Sheep.  David was the shepherd boy.  God “took him from the sheepfolds”.  [Psalms 78:70].  Are references to David and sheep somehow a clue to solving this mystery?

Five Controversies

Scripture Reading: Titus 1:14:

There are several major discrepancies and controversies that are in the different English versions of the Bible that we now have.  There are also many stories that are hard to believe, but they are true, nevertheless.  But many of the stories can be interpreted in different ways.  Most of the details are missing in the Bible.

Sometimes in Scripture there are no sure answers to all the particulars of the story.  Some are popularly viewed with a very wrong interpretation.  I picked some of the more interesting ones to decipher.

Pastors of Israel

By Pastor Matthew Dyer

December 18, 2022

Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 3:1-7

The word Pastor is misused in a lot of Churchianity today, and if we look back in history and in the Bible, we see a totally different picture of what a Pastor is supposed to be than what we see today. Today it is not uncommon for a so-called Pastor to be a very effeminate, weak physically and mentally man, who doesn’t know the Bible, and in many cases the Pastor may even be a woman.

The Psalms

by Pastor Jim Jester

December 11, 2022

SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 1:1-6

INTRODUCTION

In the First of the book of Psalms, the tone is set for the comparison and contrast of those men who are righteous and those who are wicked. “Happy is the man who does not go in the company of sinners… 2 But whose delight is in the law of the Lord.” (Ps. 1:1-2a, BBE)

There are many such references to the upright and the evil in the book of Psalms. At first, we may assume that David is simply speaking about good people and bad people. This is true, as David certainly had his share of trouble from his adversaries. However, as we read large amounts of the Psalms, there is a growing sense that David had more in mind than just the morally good and the morally bad. We find there is a racial context revealed.

God's Law - Part 3

By Garry Maddux

December 4, 2022

Opening Scripture I Jn 5:1-2

The law converts our souls and opens our eyes to understanding God and his desire for our life.

Psalm 19:7  The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Psalm 19:8  The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

In a review of The Law Part II, we covered the first 8 positive commandments.

  • We are to acquire knowledge of God’s existence.
  • We are to have our minds fixed there is only one God.
  • We are to meditate upon these commandments.
  • We are to fear the Lord.
  • We are to serve the Lord in prayer.
  • We are to cleave to God and the wise.
  • We are to swear in God’s name.
  • We are to emulate God in our daily walk.

Athaliah

Murderous Queen of Judah

Copied from the sermon notes of Pastor Don Elmore

November 27, 2022

I was asked about the children of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel about three years ago.  I have wondered about this situation for many years and didn't receive any help from most Bible commentators.  Very few preachers preached about the subject.   I now have the time, so I will attempt to answer these questions.  They are very important questions because it questions the LORD’s pure genetics.  And any attempt to give an answer is difficult because there are kings in two different kingdoms that have the same name and they ruled at the same time.

After His Own Heart - Part 1

“The LORD hath sought Him a man after his own heart

by Walter Gidding

November 20, 2022

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 13:10-14.

What was in David’s heart that caused God to have the Prophet Samuel say, “the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart”?  This is said once in 1 Samuel 13:15   Why does this stick in many people’s minds?  What was in David’s heart that caused God to call him “a man after his own heart”?  Why is David the only member of Adam’s Race to be called of God “a man after his own heart”?
