David's Family Life

Scripture Reading: Psalms 3:1-8

This Psalm was made when David was dethroned from being King of Israel by his own son--Absalom.  Absalom was David’s third son; so how did he get ahead of his brothers?  This story is all part of the bigger one—how David is different from all of the recent Presidents of our nation—the United States of America.

Introduction

In the beginning of my ministry, I gave messages which covered the entire Biblical career of David, the King of Israel.  These sermons lasted for about four or five years; intermingled along with other sermons.  After I preached about David, I spent a couple of years on the biblical history of Elijah.  Then I spent another couple of years preaching on Genesis 1-11.

As I was about half-way through giving these messages concerning King David, I thought of the following question:  Who would like to trade places with David?   In other words, who would like to live their life as David?

Something to Think About

by Pastor Don Elmore

Roman Catholics are taught that the Pope is the Vicar of Almighty God.  But that is 6000 years too late; for the real Vicar of God was Adam, the father of our race.  He was created fully grown to carry out God's Will on the earth.  He was to rule over the other races; but he failed in the Garden when he sinned and now the Roman Catholics have raised up substitute Vicars.

It is similar to Judeo-Christianity; for the hyphenated word is an oxymoron.  Let's look at what Judaism says about this new religion!

The London Jewish World, 15 March 1923, quoted in The Truth at Last, Issue 337:  "Fundamentally, Judaism is anti-Christian."  The Judeo-Christians would like that statement to be:  "Fundamentally, Judaism is pro-Christian"; but it is not.   Rabbi Moshe M. Maggal (President, national Jewish Information Service:  "You will notice the great difference between the Jewish and Christian religions.  We consider the two religions so different that one excludes the other...we emphasize that there is no such thing as a Judeo-Christian religion...There is not any similarity between the two concepts.  Too bad Christians don't believe what the jews say!

The Wake-up Herald

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Romans 13:11-14

My Mother's Fatal Song

The Song My Mother Sang

I was born in 1942; my mother in 1913.  She would have turned 100 years old this year.  The Federal Reserve System went into effect in the last days of the year in which she came into this world.  What a sinful disaster this banking system has been!  But there was something else that happened the year that she was born and I want to tell you about it today.

The Perfect Sermon Part 2

Scripture Reading:  Ephesians 6:13-19

Once again the Holy Spirit has brought someone else’s commentary to bear fruit on our understanding of perfection with Paul’s description of the armor of God and specifically verse 19 with the phrase “the mystery of the gospel.’  The brother said this, “Paul was explaining how the scriptures in his day had been manipulated to hide the one fundamental principle of the message from God's word. Paul flatly said he was chosen to reveal this mystery to the nations of Adam. Almost nobody in the Identity movements know, or can say whaft this mystery is, because it was sealed up again until the latter time:  Paul tells us this mystery is so important, it is the ONE thing a believer must learn and believe in order to a) be "established in the faith," b) be "made complete in Christ."
