Scripture Reading: Luke 1:1-4

Introduction

Sometimes I go back and look at the old New Covenant Messengers and read articles that were written years ago.  I did so last Saturday morning and immediately found three articles.  I turned right to them.  It was three articles written by our own Dan and Cory.  It is in NCM #26.

The third article, written by Cory, was very interesting.  It told of the origin of Valentine’s Day.  Valentine was the Roman Catholic priest who defied the Emperor’s order to ban marriages; and as a result married many couples.  The Roman Catholic Church merged the worship of Lupercalia and the death of the priest Valentine.  Lupercalia was the she-wolf that nursed Romulus and Remus when they were orphaned.  The two boys grew up and are credited with the founding of Rome.

In her second article, Cory said the following about why they were home schooling:

“As I said, that was seven or eight years ago and now our oldest [Hannah] is doing sixth and seventh grade work, our second daughter [Katie] is in third grade, our third daughter [Rebecca] is in second grade and we’re going to be starting kindergarten with our fourth daughter [Emily] in the fall  Not to leave any one out, God has also given us a son [Abel] who will be two this month.”

That means that the NCM that I was reading was about 18 years old!  My, how time flies.

But the first article that I saw was the article written by Dan titled:  “Listen!  When A Dumb Man Speaks.”  It was an article that dealt with a favorite portion of scripture for Dan:  Luke, Chapter One.  I thought, “What a fine article.  It needs to be done again so our people don’t forget what happened.”

The Addressee

Do you know who Luke wrote the book of Luke to; and not just this book but his next:  the book of Acts?  Theophilus.  Who was he?  All we know for sure is that he was a man “instructed” in the life of Christ.   That is all.

I liked how Dan started out his article:  “Several times in the Bible, God used strange or unusual events to precede the delivery of an important truth or prophecy.”  Dan gave examples of what happened in several Bible stories:  the talking mule; the hungry lions that did not eat Daniel; and the fish that swallowed Jonah.  These events certainly set the stage for what was coming.  But what Dan was alleging was the strange or unusual event that preceded the birth of our Savior.  It was the birth of another Isaac!

Scripture Reading:  Revelation 5:8-10:

Each of the four beasts and twenty-four elders who fell down before the Lamb had a harp.  That would be 28 harps that were played as they sang their new song.  In Revelation 14:2 there implies that there were 144,000 harps and in Revelation 15:2 an innumerable number of harps in heaven.  If God allows this many harps in heaven then it should not be considered unheavenly to have musical instruments in churches. 

This heavenly “choir” sang a new song about their Redeemer; but there is also a “good and evil” part about music.   The genealogy of Cain is given in the fourth chapter of Genesis; with Cain, Enoch, Lamech, Jubal; the great-grandson of Cain; who was “the father [inventor and teacher of musical instruments] of all such as handle the harp and organ” (Genesis 4:21).

So, there are two kinds of music:  good and evil.  Which is which?  The first song that we will look at is the song which many people are in favor of making it our new national anthem, replacing “Star Spangled Banner;” which many people feel is hard to sing.  The song is “God Bless America.” 

It was first sung on November 11, 1938 by Kate Smith.  November 11th was the day that World War I ended; and was sung as part of the memory of this day.  The song was first written in 1918 but was never used. 

As America and the world approached the Second World War, a song was needed to help patriotism in the nation.  Many singers looked for a new song.  The song that was chosen was not used 20 years earlier but was brought back out of the song writer’s casted away songs; and with a few changed words was revamped.  For example, the words “To the right” was changed “Thru the night.”

Brief Comment on the Vaccine Controversy

I feel that I need to bring this controversy up as the media has been just slamming everyone who did not vaccinate either themselves or their children; many calling them “conspiracy” advocates.  Even Bill Cunningham, the Catholic local radio host argued for it.  NBC news all agreed; with their medical specialist correspondent, Nancy Snyderman lambasting the anti-vaccine people, calling them “stupid.”   Of course she is in trouble because she left the Ebola quarantine area and may lose her job.  Do you think that this is why she spoke so strongly against the unvaccinated?

While the media continues to spew emotionally charged tirades about how the anti-vaccination “movement” allegedly triggered the recent measles outbreak that health authorities believe started at Disneyland, actual science suggests that the most likely cause of this insanely overblown outbreak was a person who was recently vaccinated.

Numerous published studies reveal how live-virus vaccines like MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) actually shed these diseases for many weeks or even months following vaccination, potentially infecting others, both vaccinated and unvaccinated. This means that any child who was recently given an MMR vaccine is a walking disease-spreader, a truth that the media is refusing to report as even just a possibility in this case.

The fact that vaccinated individuals can and do carry around contagious measles for many weeks while displaying no symptoms of the disease suggests that this latest outbreak might just be another example of a vaccine-strain outbreak. While a handful of the roughly 100 measles cases identified so far have tested out as wild genotype B3 measles, according to the latest reports, the original source of the outbreak has yet to be identified.

Scripture Reading: Genesis 12:1-3

Brief comments before I start the message:

First, I would like to make a couple of comments about this Sunday’s climax to the National Football League’s championship game. The illuminati’s showcase game has a twice-as-long half-time show as regular games; about ½ hour.  Today it will star Katy Perry, another illuminati performer.

For years, churches have battled with these Super Bowl Sunday championship games; mostly losing to them by having the lowest-attended services of the year.  There is a “new” church in the area that has the largest crowds of the year on this date:  Crossroads Church. 

Today is the 13th year of Crossroads Super Bowl Sunday’s performances:  Tailgating, inflatables, T-shirt launchers, cheerleaders, pickup trucks full of popcorn, marching bands, tickets (free), with dueling preachers who will be on the four campuses in the Cincinnati, Ohio area.  The events includes 17 services beginning Saturday and running through Sunday afternoon.  They already are expecting 41,000 this weekend and with television exposure and a story on the headline of the second section of the city’s newspaper, it will only grow larger.

It is similar to what Pope Francis remarked about the mission of Catholic schools:  “Catholic education is one of the Church’s most important challenges, committed to carrying out the new evangelization in a historical and cultural context in constant transformation,” likening the modern world to Jesus’ mission field in the “Galilee of the gentiles:  a CROSSROADS of people in diverse races, cultures and religions.” Now, where have I heard that word before…?

Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 17:13

In today's scripture reading, God reveals that House of Judah (Benjamin, Levi and Judah) also committed the same sins as did the nation of the other ten tribes: the House of Israel.  Many were the prophets God had sent to both nations of Israel in an attempt to turn them from their many sins.  This was addressed to Israelites only.  It was not addressed to any other nation or nations.  It was a racial statement.

Scripture Reading:  2 Timothy 3:1-9

In the last days, the Bible says that men will have a distorted view of love.  They will be lovers of themselves and lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.  Men will love the world.

“Do not love the world or the things of the world.  If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, for all this is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life—is not of the Father, but of the world.”  1 John 2:15-16

“If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you” John 15:18.

Rio De Janeiro

In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016 is where the Olympic Games are scheduled to be held.  The whole world will have their eyes on this site. We know that these universal games play a major part in the formation of the New World Order. Rio de Janeiro is where the huge statue of the false Jesus stands.  The famous Christ the Redeemer statue suffered damage on its right thumb when it was hit by a furious lightning bolt last January, one year ago.  Roman Catholics said that they will fix the thumb on this Jesuit statue. 

There was also another lightning bolt strike that hit St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican on the same night that Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation, stunning the world.  In fact, there wasn’t just one, but two strikes a few hours apart.  The lightning touched the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the holiest of all the Catholic churches.

Scripture Reading: Matthew 7:13-14:

The United Nations Peace Plaza in Independence, Missouri was unveiled on October 27, 1997, formally dedicated by United Nations General Secretary Kofi Annan on April 25, 2003, and is described by its creators as “the only memorial in the world to those persons serving in the Peacekeeping Forces of the United Nations....”  In the center of this fountain is a 12.5-foot statue named “Girl with Dove” by its sculptor Tom Corbin and in 2003, a four-foot miniature was gifted to the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

Who is Tom Corbin?  I saw the picture of the statue that he made for the United Nations in my Miami University Alumni magazine.  Tom Corbin was a 1976 graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  At Miami, he studied drawing while majoring in marketing.  He started out as an advertising executive until a chance meeting with a bronze sculptor led to classes and thoughts of an art career, which he began in 1986.  He made the six statues of children for the Children Fountain in Kansas City.  And he made the sculptor the stands atop the United Nations Peace Plaza’s fountain in Independence, Missouri.

Scripture Reading:  1 Kings 12:25-33

This map shows the two cities where Jeroboam 1 built his false temples; one in the South, the other in the North.  From the very beginning, the House of Israel did not worship their God correctly.

Let’s see what the opening Scriptures say about how the House of Israel began; The House of Israel had the:

• Wrong King:  Had a man who was not of the seed of David:  Jeroboam was a king who was born from the seed of Ephraim (2 Kings 11:26).  God ordained that all kings were to come from the family of David, of the lineage of Judah.
• Wrong Priests:  Jeroboam made priests of the lowest of the people:  None were of Levi.  God ordained that all His priests were go come from the line of Levi; no other tribe.
• Wrong Temple:  Jeroboam made two new temples; one in Bethel and the other in Dan.  Inside each temple he put what he said were the “gods that brought you out of Egypt”:  two golden calves.  God had built His house in Jerusalem.  His throne was in the inner court on the Ark of the Covenant.
• Wrong feast days:  Jeroboam made a feast that was similar to Judah’s but he celebrated it on the wrong month; the 8th instead of the 7th.
• Wrong laws kept:  Jeroboam kept a different set of laws than what God told them to do.   In fact, it says that the kings of Israel all followed after the commandments of other gods, particularly Baalim. 

The House of Israel experienced in 205 years: 19 kings; 9 dynasties; 7 assassinations; 1 suicide; 1 killed in battle; 1 died falling through a lattice and each new king was worse than his predecessor.  There was not one good king in the whole bunch according to the Bible.  The Old Testament refers to the kingship of Israel as all being disobedient to the Laws of God.
